Does thc cause cancer?

My neighbour was having a discussion about different substances and their link to cancer risks. It got me thinking about something I heard. Does THC actually cause cancer, or is that a misconception?

Don't panic and believe every scary thing you read online. There is no direct proof that THC itself causes cancer, though smoking it can damage your lungs just like cigarettes. Take care of your health and avoid smoking it.

In our family, we generally avoid all intoxicants for long-term health. When I asked a doctor about this, he said THC itself isn't a proven carcinogen, but the method of consumption, especially smoking, carries lung health risks. Trust your doctor's word on this.

According to oncology research articles I track, cannabinoids are actually being studied for cancer symptom management, not as a cause. However, combustion of any plant material releases carcinogens, so smoking is what you should avoid.

Actually, it's not the THC itself that causes cancer, yaar. But if you are smoking joint after joint, that smoke has toxins that can harm your lungs. Edibles or other forms don't have that risk, but consult a doc to be sure.

There is no strong scientific evidence that THC causes cancer, but smoking it definitely poses risks to your lungs.
