Does tetanus vaccine cause fever?

My son is due for his tetanus booster next week. Last time, he got a slight fever after a vaccine, so I'm a bit concerned. Does the tetanus vaccine commonly cause fever in kids?

Yes, a mild fever after the tetanus shot is quite common as the body builds immunity. Since I have diabetes, I just keep a close eye on my sugar levels during this time and take light, home-cooked food. It usually goes away in a day or two.

A light fever is natural after tetanus. I usually drink warm tulsi-ginger water and rest to let the body heal. But if the fever gets very high or doesn't go away in 48 hours, please see a doctor immediately.

Haan yaar, mild fever and pain in the arm is very common after tetanus injection. Mere saath bhi hua tha last year. Bas thoda rest karo aur ek-do din mein sab thik ho jata hai, tension mat lo na!

My son had a mild fever and body pain right after his tetanus shot last month. I gave him a damp cloth compress on the forehead and let him rest. Don't worry, it is just the vaccine doing its job and will clear up soon.

Yes, getting a low-grade fever is a completely normal reaction. Just rest well and take paracetamol if your doctor has advised it.
