Does teething make babies sleep more?

My baby, who is teething, has been sleeping a lot more than usual these days. I'm wondering if this is a normal part of the process. Does teething make babies sleep more?

Haan bilkul, bache thak jaate hain dard se toh kabhi kabhi bohot sote hain. It is their body's way of healing. Just keep a loving eye on them and make sure they are drinking milk well when awake.

Since I have to be extremely careful with my diabetes diet, I always look at the root cause of fatigue. Sometimes the low energy and extra sleep in babies is because they aren't eating well due to gum pain. Ensure they get their normal feed.

My little nephew sleeps so much when his teeth are coming, probably because his mouth hurts too much to eat his favorite apple puree! Poor things, they just choose to sleep instead of dealing with the pain.

My elder sister was talking about this yesterday. Her kid was sleeping like a log during his teething week. Honestly, it was a relief for the whole family because otherwise he is just running around and screaming.

I wish teething made me sleep more, honestly! But yes, some babies do get completely drained from the constant mild pain and sleep a lot. Just enjoy the quiet hours while they last because the cranky phase will return.

Just like how our body needs extra sleep to recover after a heavy workout, babies need sleep to heal from the physical stress of teething. Let them rest, but keep their hydration levels high with breastmilk or water when they are active.

I was actually researching baby sleep patterns for a project. It turns out that the mild immune response and sheer physical exhaustion of coping with gum discomfort can indeed make some infants sleep longer than usual.

I don't have kids yet but my cousin's baby is sleeping a lot lately during teething. Is this really common? I thought teething only makes them cry and stay awake all night.

Please be very careful. My grandson was sleeping too much and we thought it was just teething, but it turned out he had a severe ear infection. If the baby is too lethargic to wake up for feeds, please consult a doctor immediately.

I always focus on natural nutrition for babies. If your baby is sleeping more, it might be because of the exhaustion from fussiness. Just make sure to offer pureed cold fruits or diluted dal water when they wake up to keep their energy levels steady.
