Does teething disrupt sleep?
Our little one has started teething, and their sleep pattern has gone completely haywire. My husband and I are exhausted. Does teething disrupt sleep this much for babies?

Yes, it definitely disturbs their sleep because of the gum pain. We used to keep a clean, wet cotton hanky in the fridge for some time and let the baby chew it before bedtime. It cools their gums and helps them sleep a bit better.
Our pediatrician explained that the pressure of the tooth breaking through the gums increases when the baby lies flat, which is why they wake up crying. She advised us to gently massage the gums with a clean finger before sleep to relieve that pressure.
Bro, my 8-month-old is teething right now and I haven't slept more than 2 hours straight in a week! He wakes up screaming every midnight. I am surviving purely on black coffee at this point, hope this phase passes soon.
My son went through this very badly last winter. His sleep schedule was totally ruined for about two weeks. We just adjusted our routine, took turns holding him, and used a doctor-approved teething gel when the pain was too much.

I feel your pain, it is a very tiring phase for both mother and child. I used to give my babies cold watermelon slices to suck on during the day which numbs the pain naturally. Just be patient and rock them to sleep with soft music.
