Does teething cause fever?

My baby is about six months old, and she's been very fussy lately, with a slight fever. My mother-in-law said it might be teething. Does teething cause fever in babies?

Haan beta, bacho ko dant nikalte waqt halka sharer garm ho jata hai. It is very common, don't worry too much. Just keep them clean and give them cold carrots or a soft wet cloth to chew.

My son had mild warmness when teething, so I used to take him out in the stroller for fresh air walks to distract him. Getting some movement and fresh air helped keep him calm. Just monitor the temp and ask your doc if he can continue his regular outdoor play.

My niece went through this last month only. She had a very mild, low-grade temperature when her front teeth started coming. But if the body temperature goes really high, it might be some other infection and you should definitely check with the pediatrician.

In all my years of raising three kids, I have seen that teething causes a mild rise in temperature because of gum inflammation, but never a high fever. Keep the baby hydrated and look out for other symptoms like cold or loose motions. A quick call to your doctor is always safe.

Oh god, teething was such a stressful phase for me and my baby, I used to cry seeing her so cranky with that warm forehead. It really is tough but hang in there. Just keep monitoring the temperature and cuddle them as much as possible.
