Does tea tree oil help eczema?

I've had a patch of eczema on my arm for a while now, and it gets really dry. I prefer using natural remedies if possible. Someone told me tea tree oil might help with eczema; is that true?

Please don't blindly follow internet trends for skin issues. Tea tree oil is highly concentrated and can cause severe contact dermatitis on already compromised eczema skin. Verify with a qualified dermatologist before putting anything on your skin.

I used to panic every time my skin flared up and tried every oil under the sun. I eventually found out that simple, fragrance-free moisturizers work best, and diluted tea tree oil is only helpful for minor patches. Don't worry, it gets better with the right care.

Eczema requires very gentle care as the skin barrier is weak. While tea tree oil has cleansing properties, it is too harsh for dry eczema. In our time, we used pure cold-pressed coconut oil or ghee to keep the skin moist and calm.

Tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, but it must be diluted in a carrier oil like jojoba before use. However, for eczema, standard barrier-repair creams are clinically more effective. Try a patch test first.

It can help if it is highly diluted, but honestly, it often irritates sensitive skin. It's better to avoid it.
