Does talcum powder cause cancer?

My grandmother always used talcum powder, and I've used it myself for years, especially in summers. Lately, there's been so much discussion about its safety. Does talcum powder cause cancer, especially with regular use?

The link between talcum powder and cancer is primarily related to asbestos contamination in raw talc. While modern products are heavily regulated, many dermatologists still suggest avoiding fine powders to prevent inhalation risks. It is best to consult your doctor for safer alternatives.

I stopped using talcum powder years ago after hearing about the health risks. Now I just use simple cornstarch or sandalwood powder for sweat control, which is completely natural and works just as well. It is much safer for daily use.

In our home, we use natural remedies like rice flour or chickpea flour for heat rashes instead of chemical powders. My doctor also confirmed that avoiding talc is a good preventive measure, so we prefer to stick to natural methods.

Don't panic too much, but it is definitely better to be safe. Avoid using talcum powder on babies or around private areas where it can cause irritation or potential risks. Switch to cornstarch-based powders which are easily available and much safer.

I tracked my skin health on an app and realized talc-based powders were actually clogging my pores during workouts. There is some debate about its safety, so switching to organic, talc-free powders is a much smarter and healthier option anyway.
