Does sweet and low cause cancer?
I've started using artificial sweeteners to cut down on sugar in my diet. However, a friend recently warned me that 'Sweet and Low' might cause cancer. Is this true?

At this age, everything we eat or drink seems to have a warning label attached to it. While old studies on saccharin raised alarms, modern research shows it is safe in normal amounts, though I still prefer my plain unsweetened chai.
I used to look up all sweeteners when managing my PCOS diet. While the FDA considers saccharin safe now, I personally prefer to stick to natural options like stevia or just train myself to eat less sweet things overall.
Even though scientific bodies say it is safe, I try to avoid highly processed chemical sweeteners in my vegetarian diet. Sticking to whole foods and using very small amounts of organic jaggery is much better for long-term health.
Honestly, if artificial sweeteners caused cancer that easily, half of us late-night coffee drinkers would be in big trouble by now. I am more worried about my lack of sleep killing me than a packet of Sweet'N Low.
No, it doesn't. Those old studies from the 70s were done on rats using ridiculous amounts of saccharin. Major health organizations cleared it years ago, so stop worrying and enjoy your diet soda in moderation.
