Does sweating help a fever?

I just recovered from a viral fever last week. When the fever started breaking, I sweated a lot and my temperature dropped back to normal. Just make sure to change your clothes immediately so you don't stay in wet clothes.
In my experience, when I get a fever, sweating usually means the temperature is finally coming down. I don't try to force it by piling on blankets though, I just let my body handle it naturally.
It can be really scary when you wake up drenched in sweat while running a fever. I used to panic thinking something was seriously wrong with my body. But it is just a natural way the body cools down, so try to stay calm and sip some water.

Whenever I sweat during a fever, I get very cold and start shivering again. Does this happen to anyone else? It makes me worry if my fever is actually rising again instead of going down.
When you sweat heavily during a fever, your body loses essential salts and water. For someone like me who manages blood pressure, this dehydration can cause dizziness, so I always keep ORS or coconut water handy.
I was just reading about this because my roommate had a fever. Apparently, sweating is just the brain resetting the body's target temperature, so it is a symptom of recovery rather than a cure itself.
