Does sunlight help eczema?

My younger sister has been struggling with eczema for a while now. My dadi maa mentioned that some sunlight might help, so I'm wondering if this is a valid home remedy for eczema.

Yes, light morning sunlight actually helped my eczema patches heal faster because of the natural UV rays. But make sure it is only for 10-15 minutes before 8 AM. If you sit in the harsh afternoon heat, the sweat will trigger an awful itch instead.

My mother used to tell me to stand in the sun for all skin problems, but my dermatologist explained that while mild sunlight can reduce eczema inflammation, too much heat makes it worse. We must trust the doctor's specific advice for our own skin type.

I have noticed that a healthy lifestyle and mild morning sun exposure can improve skin conditions like eczema. But don't rely only on natural sunlight; please consult your doctor for proper creams and keep track of your regular medical checkups.

I tried standing in the sun for my eczema and my skin started burning and itching like crazy. Has anyone else experienced a bad flare-up from the sun? I am so confused now if I should avoid sunlight completely.

Having eczema is so mentally exhausting, especially when people look at your dry patches. Mild sunlight does help some people due to the vitamin D and anti-inflammatory effects, but it can be a trigger for others. Be gentle with yourself and find what works for you.
