Does sunblock cause cancer?

I use sunblock religiously whenever I step out, especially because of the strong sun here. However, a friend recently shared an article suggesting that certain chemicals in sunblock might be harmful and potentially cause cancer. Can sunblock actually cause cancer?

I had a bad skin allergy from using cheap sunblock and had to visit a dermatologist. They told me that reputable, clinically tested sunscreens are completely safe and actually prevent cancer. Don't believe internet rumors, but do consult a doctor if you have sensitive skin.

I was just reading some articles on this topic. It seems the rumor started because of some chemical ingredients, but major health organizations say sunblock is safe and essential to protect against UV rays. It is definitely better to use it than get sunburned.

I love using homemade ubtan and aloe vera, but when I go out in the harsh afternoon sun, I always apply a standard mineral sunblock. It doesn't cause cancer; it actually protects our skin from burning. Just find a mild one that suits your skin.

I totally understand why you are worried, I also used to panic after reading random posts about chemicals in skincare. But rest assured, there is no solid proof that sunscreen causes cancer. Using it actually protects us from real UV damage.

Hey, don't stress too much about these WhatsApp forwards! Sunblock is perfectly safe and our skin really needs it in this crazy Indian heat. Just grab a good dermatologist-tested brand and you are good to go.

My elders always told me to cover my face with a cotton cloth in the sun, which is good. But my skin specialist also advised using a standard sunscreen daily to prevent UV damage. I trust the doctor's advice on this completely.

It is so hard to know what to believe online these days, and it can make you feel so anxious about basic daily habits. Just know that you are doing the right thing by questioning. Sunscreen is safe, so don't feel guilty about using it.

There is clear medical consensus that UV radiation is a proven carcinogen, whereas sunblock ingredients undergo strict safety testing. My dermatologist emphasized that the benefits of preventing skin cancer far outweigh any theoretical risks from the lotion itself.

I spent hours researching ingredients like oxybenzone because I was terrified of health risks. If you are anxious, you can switch to physical sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. They just sit on top of the skin and are considered extremely safe.

If sunblock caused cancer, half of Mumbai's actors would be out of work by now! Don't worry, it is just a protective lotion. Use it so you don't turn into a roasted tandoori chicken under the sun.
