Does sun tanning help eczema?

I have mild eczema, and sometimes my skin looks better after some sun exposure. I've heard some people even try controlled sun tanning for their eczema. Does sun tanning actually help improve eczema symptoms?

I went for a beach holiday recently to eat seafood and thought some sun tanning would cure my eczema. Honestly, the sweat and heat made me scratch like crazy! Not a fun experience at all.

I totally get it, trying to find anything that cures the constant itching is exhausting. While a little morning sun is good, actual heavy tanning can dry out your skin too much and trigger a bad flare-up.

I had dry patches on my arms and noticed that sitting in the mild morning sun for 10 minutes helped reduce the redness. I don't do deep tanning, just light sun exposure has personally worked well for me.

My dermatologist explained that controlled UV light helps suppress overactive immune cells in eczema. However, deliberate sun tanning can cause sunburn and skin barrier damage. It is safer to ask your doctor about targeted phototherapy.

Managing skin health when you have other health issues is a delicate balance. I avoid harsh sun exposure because skin healing can be slow. A tiny bit of morning light is fine, but focus on keeping the skin hydrated.

I don't have time for long sunbathing sessions, but brief exposure during my morning commute helps a bit. However, excessive heat and sweat will definitely trigger eczema. Keep it brief and avoid peak UV hours.

Hey, don't stress too much about finding perfect solutions. Heavy tanning might just burn your sensitive skin. Just stick to a good moisturizer and avoid direct afternoon sun, you'll be fine!

I once sat in the sun trying to heal my eczema and ended up with a severe bacterial skin infection on the cracked areas. Please consult a dermatologist before attempting any self-treatment with sun exposure.

Simple thing: mild sun for 5 minutes is good for vitamin D, but cooking your skin under the hot sun to get a tan will only ruin your skin barrier. Use common sense and don't overdo it.

Bro, don't go tanning if you have active eczema. The heat and sweat will make your skin burn like hell. I tried it last summer and regretted it instantly. Just keep your skin cool.

I am so scared of my eczema spreading. I heard sun helps, but won't the heat cause more redness and itching? Has anyone with sensitive skin tried this safely without getting a massive flare-up?

In our villages, we always sit in the morning sun for health, but we never sit in the harsh heat. Applying some cold-pressed coconut oil or fresh aloe vera is much safer for dry skin than baking in the sun.
