Does sun affect eczema?

My younger sister has eczema, and we notice her skin gets worse when she spends time outdoors, especially in the sun. Does sun exposure generally affect eczema, perhaps making it flare up, or is it usually helpful for skin conditions?

Bro, for me, the summer heat and sweat make my eczema so itchy and red. I literally avoid going out in the afternoon. Sun exposure definitely triggers it if I sweat too much.

Half the time I am up scratching my skin, and the other half I am regretting sitting near the window. Mild sun helps some people, but for me, Indian summer just turns my eczema into a fiery itchy nightmare.

Actually, a little bit of morning sun helps my skin clear up, but afternoon heat is a big no. If I stay in the harsh sun, my patches flare up instantly. Keep it limited to early mornings.

Yes, UV rays can either help or hurt depending on exposure. While medical phototherapy helps, harsh direct sun causes sweating which worsens eczema. Apply a physical sunscreen and avoid peak sun hours.

I went for an outdoor street food tour in the afternoon and my eczema flared up so badly from the sun and sweat. Next time, I am sticking to air-conditioned cafes or evening food stalls!

Actually, the humidity in Mumbai combined with the hot sun is a deadly combo for eczema, yaar. It makes the skin so irritated. Always carry a wet wipe to keep the sweat off your skin.

Hey, don't stress too much about it. Just wear loose cotton clothes and carry an umbrella when you step out in the sun. It helps keep the skin cool and prevents the flare-ups.

I ignored my skin irritation thinking it was just a normal sunburn, but it turned into a severe eczema infection. Please don't self-treat if your skin gets very red or starts oozing after sun exposure. Go see a doctor immediately.
