Does sulfur soap help with eczema?

I've been dealing with persistent eczema patches on my hands, and they're quite irritating. Someone at the local chemist suggested trying sulfur soap, saying it can help with skin conditions. Does sulfur soap actually help in treating eczema?

Honestly, sulfur soap smells like rotten eggs and dry skin is already itchy enough. I tried it once and it just dried my skin out completely. I'd rather deal with mild eczema than smell like a volcano while trying to sleep.

Sulfur soap is quite cheap, but if it dries out your skin, you'll end up spending thousands on heavy medical moisturizers. It is more cost-effective to get a proper gentle, soap-free cleanser recommended by a doctor first.

Having sensitive skin myself due to hormonal imbalances, I would be very careful with sulfur soap. Eczema needs moisture, and sulfur can strip the skin barrier. I suggest testing it on a tiny patch first, or better, asking a dermatologist.

Sulfur soap is usually great for acne or fungal issues, but for dry eczema, it might be too stripping. Try using a gentle moisturizing wash instead to keep your skin happy and soft.

For skin irritation, a bath with lukewarm water and a little ground oats is very soothing. Sulfur can be too strong and harsh for eczema. If your skin is cracked or bleeding, please avoid experiments and see a doctor.
