Does sugar cause arthritis?

My joints have been feeling stiff and painful lately, and I'm worried it might be arthritis. My grandmother always used to say that eating too many sweets leads to joint problems. Does sugar actually cause arthritis to develop?

Yaar, my knees already creak like old doors at 30, and finding out sugar causes inflammation makes it worse. Between late-night work shifts and coffee with three spoons of sugar, I am setting myself up for trouble. Honestly, staying awake researching this at 3 AM is not helping my joints or my sleep.

Look, direct sugar doesn't directly give you arthritis, but it increases swelling and body pain. A simple solution is to stop putting white sugar in your tea and milk daily. Switch to small amounts of jaggery if you must, and start walking for 20 minutes. No need to buy expensive sugar-free health drinks, just keep things simple.

It can be really painful to deal with stiff joints every day. While sugar does cause some inflammation in the body, please don't stress too much. Just try to reduce your sweet intake slowly and see if it makes a difference. Take care.

Beta, excess sweet foods create 'ama' or toxins in the body, which makes joint pains worse in old age. I always drink warm water with a pinch of dry ginger powder and haldi in winter. But if your joints are swollen and very red, please don't rely only on home remedies, consult a proper doctor.

I completely understand how scary it is to read these things online and worry if every sweet you eat is ruining your bones. I used to panic about every joint ache thinking it is severe arthritis. Just breathe, cutting down sugar is good anyway, but don't let the internet search make you anxious. A quick doctor visit can clear your doubts.

When my joint pain started getting bad, I felt so helpless and blamed myself for my bad eating habits. It actually took a toll on my mental peace feeling like I did this to myself. Please be kind to yourself while you try to cut down on sugar. Healing takes time and it is okay to seek help.
