Does strep throat give you a fever?

My son has a bad sore throat and is refusing to eat anything. We're thinking it might be strep from school. Does strep throat give you a fever, or is it possible to have it without one?

Yes, it typically does. If you are starting to feel a fever coming on with a very bad throat, don't wait it out hoping for a miracle. Just book an online doctor appointment today so you can start treatment without disrupting your entire work week.

It absolutely does, and it makes you feel like you've been run over by a truck. In my younger days, I would ignore it, but now my body demands immediate rest and a quick doctor visit at the first sign of a warm forehead.

Oh, it definitely brings a fever, almost like a free gift package you never asked for! But don't worry, a quick trip to the doctor and some basic meds will have you back to complaining about normal life in no time.

I totally get it, dealing with a fever and a painful throat at the same time is incredibly exhausting. Strep throat is known to cause a fever as your body tries to fight off the infection. Please take deep breaths, rest as much as you can, and see a doctor soon.

Yes, son, strep throat usually makes the body very hot with a fever. Please drink some warm water and take plenty of rest. Go to the doctor in the morning so they can check your throat and help you feel better.
