Does stevia cause kidney stones?

Getting kidney stones sometimes means I'm very careful about what I eat and drink. I've switched to Stevia to avoid sugar, but then I heard a rumour that artificial sweeteners can contribute to kidney stones. Does stevia cause kidney stones, or is it safe for people like me?

According to nutritional data, stevia is not high in oxalates, which are the main compounds that cause calcium oxalate kidney stones. Just stay well-hydrated and log your daily water intake on an app to be safe.

I know how stressful it is to worry about painful kidney stones. Thankfully, stevia does not cause them, so you can breathe easy. It is completely safe to use in your daily diet.

I ignored mild back pain once and ended up with a huge kidney stone. While stevia is safe and won't cause them, please get a regular health checkup if you feel any persistent side aches. Don't delay.

No, stevia is perfectly safe and won't lead to kidney stones. For kidney health, the best practice is simply drinking 2-3 liters of water daily and avoiding excess salt.

As a diabetic, I use stevia regularly. It doesn't cause kidney stones, but always make sure to read the label of your sweetener brand to ensure there are no chemical additives.

Hey, clinically speaking, stevia is not linked to stone formation. Just keep your overall sodium and animal protein intake in check, as those are the actual common culprits.

I was looking this up recently because my dad has a history of kidney stones. Stevia actually has a diuretic effect which helps flush out fluids, and there's no evidence showing it causes stones.

Medical literature confirms that stevia is safe and does not promote kidney stones. However, if you have a family history of renal stones, consult your urologist or doctor for a tailored dietary plan.

Stevia is safe, yaar. It actually doesn't have the oxalates that form stones, so you can use it in your tea without stressing about it.
