Does sprite help with vomiting?

I woke up feeling very nauseous and nearly vomited this morning. My husband suggested I try drinking some Sprite. Does Sprite actually help with vomiting, or should I stick to plain water?

For vomiting, sugary sodas like Sprite can sometimes irritate your food pipe more. It is much better to sip on slow ginger tea or suck on a piece of lemon with black salt. But if the vomiting is severe and you cannot keep any liquids down, please consult a doctor immediately to avoid dehydration.

I once tried to manage severe vomiting at home with cold drinks and ended up with severe dehydration and had to be hospitalized. Please do not rely on Sprite for this. If you are vomiting continuously, go see a doctor for proper anti-vomiting medication.

Instead of buying Sprite, which has too much sugar, just make a simple ORS solution at home with salt, sugar, and clean water. Or you can buy electral powder from the chemist. Sip it slowly with a spoon so your body can absorb the fluids without triggering another bout of vomiting.

I totally get it, vomiting makes you feel so exhausted and weak, and you just want anything that can settle your stomach. Some people find that flat, room-temperature Sprite helps with the nausea, but please take only very tiny sips. If it doesn't help, stick to plain water so you don't irritate your stomach further.

Please be very gentle with your body when you are feeling sick. Chilled Sprite might temporarily calm the tongue, but your stomach needs pure rest and hydration now. Take small sips of warm water, stay positive, and let your body heal naturally.

When I had severe hormonal nausea and vomiting, drinking sugary drinks like Sprite actually made me feel more bloated and dizzy. It is very important to get a proper medical opinion and check your electrolyte levels instead of self-medicating with soft drinks. Please follow up with your family doctor.

I just recovered from a stomach flu last week and tried drinking cold Sprite to stop my vomiting. Honestly, the fizz made me throw up again almost instantly. Coconut water and dilute barley water were the only things my stomach could actually tolerate, so avoid sodas.
