Does social media affect mental health?

My children spend a lot of time on their phones and social media these days. I often wonder if all this screen time actually affects their mental health. What are your thoughts on this?

My mother always tells me to keep my phone away before sleeping to stay peaceful, but I also consulted my doctor when my anxiety peaked. The doctor confirmed that endless scrolling definitely disrupts our brain's peace. It is best to set strict screen limits.

I feel really down and insecure after watching other people's travel stories on Instagram. Does anyone else also feel this way, or am I just oversensitive?

Yes, it absolutely does. I had to uninstall LinkedIn and Instagram from my phone because they were destroying my work focus and sleep. If you want your sanity back, put a 30-minute daily timer on these apps.

Beta, ye mobile ki duniya asli nahi hai. Asli khushi dosto se milne aur parivar ke sath baithne me hai. Thoda samay phone band karke bahar ghumne jaya karo, man bilkul shant ho jayega.

I can only share what worked for me—I did a complete digital detox for two weeks last month. My constant comparison habit stopped, and my sleep improved significantly. It made a massive difference to my peace of mind.
