Does smoking harm the liver?

My husband has been drinking and smoking heavily for many years. He recently had some issues with his liver. Does smoking also harm the liver, or is it mainly alcohol that causes damage?

I completely understand how terrifying it is to worry about organ damage; I used to get panic attacks thinking about my liver health. Yes, smoking does harm the liver because it increases oxidative stress and toxins that the liver has to filter out. It is a very valid concern, and getting a simple liver profile test done can really help ease your mind.

Yes bhaiya, smoking is very bad for the whole body, including the liver. The chemicals in bidis and cigarettes put extra load on the liver to clean the blood. It is best to stay away from tobacco and eat simple, fresh food to keep your body healthy and strong.

Oh god, liver issues are so scary because the liver does so many important jobs silently. Smoking increases the production of harmful cytokines which can lead to liver inflammation and fibrosis. This thought makes me so anxious, so please visit a doctor and get a liver function test to be safe.

Yes, smoking harms the liver by causing oxidative stress and increasing the risk of fatty liver disease. It is highly recommended to quit smoking to protect your liver health.

According to the latest health database syncs on my tracker, smoking significantly increases the risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The toxins from cigarettes promote lipid accumulation in the liver, which can lead to scarring over time. Quitting and staying active is the best way to reverse this damage.

In my youth, we only thought smoking damaged the lungs, but later in life, some of my friends developed liver complications because of chronic smoking. The liver has to process all those inhaled toxins, which wears it down over the years. Trust me, quitting now will save you a lot of health troubles in your old age.
