Does sleep deprivation cause memory problems?

Lately, I find myself forgetting things easily, even small details, and I'm constantly exhausted. I barely get six hours of sleep most nights. Is there a connection between not sleeping enough and having memory problems?

Haan na, if I don't sleep well, I literally forget where I kept my house keys the next morning! Our brain needs that sleep to file away memories properly. Thoda relax karo and sleep on time.

While temporary forgetfulness is common with poor sleep, persistent memory issues should not be ignored. It is always safer to get a proper checkup to rule out other neurological or vitamin deficiencies.

My daughter used to stay up all night before exams and then blank out in the exam hall. I made her sleep at least 7 hours, and her memory and performance improved so much. Rest is fuel for the brain.

Lately I've been forgetting simple words and names because of my bad sleep schedule, and honestly, it is making me so anxious. I keep googling if it is something permanent, but hopefully, it is just fatigue.

Think of sleep like a cleaning shift for your brain's memory drive. Without it, the junk doesn't get cleared and things get misplaced. Get your 7-8 hours consistently, and you'll see your focus return.
