Does sleep apnea go away?

I've just been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and I'm really concerned about needing a CPAP machine long-term. I'm wondering if this condition is something that can eventually resolve itself. Does sleep apnea ever go away completely?

I was reading up on this recently out of curiosity. It seems sleep apnea doesn't typically go away on its own unless the underlying cause, like excess weight or nasal blockage, is cured. It usually requires long-term management.

Look, sleep apnea is not like a common cold that will just go away. You have to actively treat it with lifestyle changes, weight loss, or a CPAP machine. Don't sit around hoping it disappears, go see a specialist.

Sleep apnea can improve significantly or even resolve if it is mild and you manage to lose weight or fix a structural issue. However, for moderate to severe cases, it is a chronic condition that needs consistent medical therapy. Do consult a pulmonologist.

I kept hoping my snoring and apnea would pack its bags and leave, but no such luck! It requires serious lifestyle work, especially losing this belly fat. Till then, my CPAP machine is my permanent roommate.

With my PCOS, weight management is always a struggle, which also worsens my breathing issues at night. I have realized these things don't just vanish overnight. It takes consistent effort on our hormonal health and regular doctor checkups.

My dad has had sleep apnea for years and honestly, it hasn't gone away completely, but using the CPAP machine has made his life so much better. It is more about managing it daily than waiting for a magic cure.

My family suggested doing specific breathing exercises and sleeping on the side, which definitely helps. But for sleep apnea, we must trust the specialist's advice. It might not go away permanently, but the medical treatments keep you safe.
