Does sleep apnea cause night sweats?

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a few months back, and now I've started waking up drenched in sweat almost every night. I'm not sure if it's related. Can sleep apnea be a cause for night sweats?

My father used to suffer from severe night sweats and we thought it was just the summer heat. But when we consulted a doctor, they told us it was due to his sleep apnea because his body was struggling for oxygen. It got much better once he started treatment.

Oh, absolutely! I used to wake up looking like I just finished a marathon in my sleep, completely drenched. It turns out when you stop breathing due to apnea, your body goes into panic mode, hence the sweating. Definitely get a sleep study done.

Night sweats are indeed a lesser-known but common symptom of obstructive sleep apnea. The constant effort to breathe raises blood pressure and body temperature. If this is happening alongside loud snoring, please seek medical advice soon.

Haan beta, mere pati ko bhi yeh takleef thi. Woh raat ko bilkul pasine se bheege hue uthte the aur darr jaate the. Doctor ne bataya ki saans rukne se aisa hota hai. Aap turant kisi acche doctor ko dikhayein, thik ho jayega.

When we visited a specialist at Apollo, they explained that drop in oxygen levels from sleep apnea triggers a fight-or-flight response, causing heavy sweating. You should consult a pulmonologist or sleep specialist to get a proper diagnosis.

Yes, it does. If your body is gasping for air in the middle of the night, it is going to sweat from the stress. Stop ignoring this and see a doctor for a proper sleep study before it affects your heart.

Yes, sleep apnea causes night sweats due to the physical exertion of struggling to breathe. My smartwatch showed huge spikes in heart rate and oxygen drops during those sweaty nights. Tracking your blood oxygen levels while sleeping can give you a clue.
