Does sleep affect height?

My son is 12 and still growing, but he stays up late playing video games. My mother-in-law keeps telling me he won't grow tall if he doesn't sleep enough. Is it true that sleep directly affects a child's height?

If you are still in your growing years, sleep is actually very important because the growth hormone is released mostly when you sleep deeply. But if you are already an adult, sleep won't change your height, though it keeps your posture and spine healthy.

Bro, height is mostly about your genetics, but sleeping well definitely helps your body grow during your teenage years. I used to sleep 8 hours daily during high school and had a decent growth spurt, so don't skip your sleep.

Yes, sleep helps teenagers grow taller since growth hormones are released during deep rest! For adults, it won't make you taller, but a good sleep makes you feel fresh and confident anyway. Sleep tight and stay happy!

I used to worry so much that my late-night studying would permanently stunt my growth when I was younger. Genetics plays the biggest role, but chronic sleep issues during growth years can slightly affect development. Just focus on a healthy sleep routine now.

When we consulted a pediatrician at a major hospital for our cousin's growth, they explained that deep sleep triggers the pituitary gland to release growth hormones in children. If you are concerned about a child's growth, it is best to ask a specialist clearly.

If sleeping could make us taller, I would have been 6 feet tall by now with the amount of napping I do! Jokes aside, it only affects growth in kids and teens. If you are an adult, sleep will only help you dream of being taller.
