Does sleep affect blood pressure?

My blood pressure has been a bit high recently, and my doctor suggested I monitor my sleep patterns too. I wasn't aware of the connection. Does the amount and quality of sleep really have an effect on blood pressure levels?

Yes, poor sleep directly increases blood pressure. Getting 7 to 8 hours of restful sleep is essential to keep your BP in check.

Honestly, yes. I pulled a few all-nighters for exams recently and felt really dizzy. When I checked my BP at the local clinic, it was much higher than my usual reading. Rest is super important, don't ignore it.

Actually, yes yaar. When we don't sleep properly, our body stays in a stressed state which spikes the BP. My father's doctor explicitly told him to get 8 hours of sleep to manage his hypertension along with medicines.

Lack of sleep absolutely impacts cardiovascular health and raises blood pressure. During deep sleep, your body naturally regulates stress hormones and lowers BP. If you have chronic insomnia, please address it with your doctor.

Look, if you don't give your body rest, your heart has to work double time, which obviously increases blood pressure. Stop scrolling on your phone late at night. Get your 7 hours of solid sleep if you want to stay healthy.
