Does skin cancer cause itching?

Recently I noticed a small patch on my arm, and it's been itching quite a bit, especially at night. My aunt had some skin issues long back, so I'm a bit worried. Does skin cancer generally cause itching?

I have this one spot on my arm that has been itching for weeks and now I am panicking reading about this. Has anyone else here actually had an itchy mole that turned out to be something serious? Please let me know, I am so worried.

Honestly, itching can happen due to simple dry skin or heat also, so dont jump to conclusions. It is best to just show it to a local dermatologist instead of trying expensive creams at home. They will tell you exactly what is wrong in one visit.

At my age, every new spot on the body starts itching or aching out of nowhere. While most of it is just old age knocking, any spot that keeps itching or changing shape should definitely be checked by a proper doctor. Better safe than sorry, na?

Yes, some types of skin issues and skin cancers can definitely cause persistent itching or a crawling sensation. I had a spot that kept itching and bleeding slightly when scratched, which turned out to be basal cell carcinoma. Get a biopsy done if your dermatologist suggests it, that is the only way to be 100% sure.

Haan, bilkul ho sakti hai itching, but har khujli cancer nahi hoti na. Don't stress too much but ek baar achhe skin specialist ko dikha lo. Faltu me tension lene se achha hai test karwa ke clear kar lo.

My brain is too tired from night shifts to process medical terms, but I know scratching random spots till they bleed is never a good idea. Go to a doc instead of googling at 3 AM like I do. Trust me, Google will only tell you that you have two days to live.
