Does sinusitis cause fever?

A bad bout of sinusitis has been affecting me for a few days, and now I've also developed a fever. Is it common for sinusitis to cause fever, or should I be concerned about something else?

I have a bad headache, sinus pressure, and my temperature is around 100 degrees right now. I am getting really worried, does this happen to everyone with sinusitis? Should I run to the hospital immediately or is it normal?

In my years, I have had many sinus blockages and yes, a mild fever often comes along with a severe sinus infection. It is just the body's natural way of fighting off the inflammation. Don't worry, rest well, drink warm water, and see a doctor if the fever stays high.

Actually, yes, yaar. When the sinus block gets infected, you can easily get a low-grade fever. It usually goes away once the congestion clears up. Just do some steam inhalation and check with your doc if you feel too miserable.

Yes, an acute sinus infection can definitely trigger a mild fever. Keep yourself hydrated, use saline nasal sprays to relieve the pressure, and monitor your temperature. If the fever gets very high or you experience severe facial swelling, please consult a doctor right away.

Yes, sinusitis can cause a low-grade fever, especially if it is a bacterial infection. My ENT doctor explained that a fever helps confirm that there is active inflammation or infection in the sinus cavities. If the fever exceeds 101 or lasts more than three days, you must seek medical attention.
