Does semaglutide affect thyroid?

I'm considering semaglutide for weight loss, but I already have an underactive thyroid. My main concern is how this new medication might interact with or affect my existing thyroid condition. Will it cause any issues?

There are some warnings about thyroid tumors in lab studies, so you have to be very careful. Before starting, just go to a local lab, get a basic thyroid profile test done, and show it to your family doctor. It's a simple and safe step.

I have been on semaglutide for six months. If you have a family history of medullary thyroid cancer, doctors strictly advise against using it. Always disclose your family medical history to your endocrinologist before taking the first dose.

It is so overwhelming when you are trying to lose weight but constantly worry if the medicine will ruin your thyroid. I felt so anxious about this too. Please talk openly with your doctor so they can reassure you and monitor you safely.

Since I already have hypothyroid, my doctor was very specific about running regular blood tests before putting me on any new metabolic drugs. You must do regular TSH follow-ups with your endocrinologist to ensure everything stays normal.

Honestly, don't rely on random forum discussions for serious stuff like thyroid warnings on semaglutide. Book a quick online consult with a proper endocrinologist, show them your blood reports, and get a professional opinion.

While rodent studies showed an increased risk of thyroid C-cell tumors, the human risk is still being monitored closely. Because of this, patients with specific thyroid histories should avoid it. Consulting a qualified physician is absolutely the best approach.

We get so scared reading all these things online, ho na? It is better to directly ask your doctor if it is safe for your thyroid. Ghar pe baithkar tension lene se achha hai doctor se clear baat kar lo.

I love my food too much, but when it comes to serious medical warnings like thyroid issues, I don't take any chances. If you are planning to take semaglutide, make sure you get a green light from your doctor first.
