Does seizures cause vomiting?

My young son had a seizure episode recently, and immediately after, he vomited. This was quite concerning for us. I want to know if vomiting is a common symptom or after-effect of seizures.

Yes, vomiting can actually happen both during or right after a seizure. It is quite common but can be dangerous if the person is not fully conscious, so always turn them to their side to keep them safe!

I totally get it, seeing someone go through a seizure and then throw up is incredibly scary to watch. It happens because the brain sends chaotic signals to the stomach during the episode. Just try to stay calm and support them.

Yes, vomiting is a known symptom associated with certain types of seizures. You should definitely get proper neurological tests done under a specialist. Just like thyroid management, tracking symptoms and regular follow-ups are critical here.

Please don't look for answers or home remedies online for something as critical as seizures and vomiting. This is a clear medical emergency or a sign that medication needs adjustment. Go verify this with a neurologist immediately.

Vomiting during a seizure is a serious medical event. Since the body goes through extreme stress, you need to monitor the patient very closely. Make sure they get regular brain health checkups and their blood pressure is kept stable.

I want to be very gentle here but please take this seriously. If a seizure is followed by vomiting, there is a risk of choking if they are lying on their back. Please keep them in the recovery position and seek immediate medical help.
