Does scoliosis cause back pain?

I was diagnosed with mild scoliosis a few years ago, but it hasn't bothered me much until now. Lately, I've started experiencing persistent back pain. Could my scoliosis be causing this back pain, or is it something else?

My college roommate has mild scoliosis and he gets bad back pain if he sits through long lectures. He uses a special back support cushion on his chair which seems to help him stay comfortable.

I was recently told I might have a slight curve in my spine, and I've been getting some dull aches. Does the pain from scoliosis get worse as we grow older, or can we stop it with exercises?

At my age, back pain can be due to many things, but spinal issues like scoliosis definitely play a big role. It is very important to get a regular checkup and keep your weight under control to avoid extra pressure on your spine.

I was suffering from sharp mid-back pain for months due to my scoliosis. I recently started physiotherapy focused on posture correction and muscle balance, and the relief has been incredible over the last few weeks.

I have read that scoliosis can definitely cause back pain, especially if the curve is moderate to severe. It is best not to self-diagnose and instead get an X-ray and a proper treatment plan from a doctor.

I totally get how frustrating and exhausting chronic back pain can be. Scoliosis unevenly distributes your body weight, which leaves your back muscles constantly overworked and sore. Please be gentle with yourself.

Yes, it can definitely cause some pesky back pain because of the uneven muscle strain! 😟 Doing regular core strengthening exercises and stretching really makes a happy difference for your back! 💪

For mild back aches, I find that a warm mustard oil massage or hot fomentation helps relax the muscles around the spine. However, if your back pain is severe, shooting down your legs, or causing numbness, you must see an orthopedic specialist immediately.

Scoliosis actually messes up your whole alignment, yaar. I used to ignore my back pain thinking it's just from sitting too much, but the doc explained it was my spinal curve. Doing targeted gym workouts helped me a lot.

I have lived with a mild spinal curvature for over forty years now. In my experience, while it does cause occasional back stiffness and pain, regular gentle walks and maintaining a good posture have kept me active and healthy.
