Does rsv come with a fever?

My toddler has a bad cough and seems quite congested, but his temperature is normal. His daycare had a few RSV cases recently. Does RSV usually present with a fever, or can it be mild without one?

I completely understand the anxiety of checking the thermometer every ten minutes when your child is sick. Yes, RSV can come with a fever, but sometimes it doesn't. If you are feeling worried, just consult your doctor to be sure.

My mother was saying that all viral infections must have a high fever, but my doctor cleared my doubt. He said RSV can sometimes just feel like a regular cold with no fever at all. It is always safer to trust the doctor's word.

Haan, fever toh kaafi common hai isme, especially starting ke do-tin din. But har baar high fever ho aisa zaroori nahi hai na. Agar bache ko saas lene mein dikkat ho toh bina fever ke bhi doctor ko dikhana chahiye.

Yes, it often brings a mild fever. Before you spend a lot on home PCR panels and tests, just visit your local doctor. A basic consultation and checking their chest congestion is usually enough to start the right treatment.

While fever is a standard symptom of RSV, many mild cases present strictly with nasal congestion and a mild cough. It is highly recommended to consult your pediatrician to monitor the chest symptoms, fever or no fever.

RSV can absolutely present with a fever, but the severity varies from child to child. For safety, you should always get any persistent fever or cough checked by a qualified pediatrician immediately.
