Does rsv cause vomiting in babies?

My neighbour's baby has RSV, and she said her little one has been vomiting a lot. My own baby is quite young, and I'm worried about him catching it. Is vomiting a common symptom of RSV in very young babies?

Yes, it can happen and please don't take it lightly. I once delayed taking my baby to the clinic when he was throwing up with a cold, thinking it would pass, and he got severely dehydrated. Please get your baby checked by a doctor right away.

It is absolutely heartbreaking to watch your tiny baby vomit while already struggling with a bad cough. I felt so helpless and stressed when my daughter went through this. It is very common with RSV due to swallowed mucus, so please stay strong.

To help a baby struggling with RSV and mild vomiting, keeping their head slightly elevated while they rest can prevent gagging. Always prioritize gentle care and consult your doctor for any severe distress.

Sometimes warm steam in the room helps to clear the phlegm so they don't cough and throw up. But if the baby is very dull or refuses to drink milk, don't try home remedies. Go straight to the child specialist.

In babies, RSV causes a lot of congestion, and when they swallow that mucus, it easily triggers their gag reflex during coughing, leading to vomiting. Keep their nasal passages clear using saline drops before feeding. Talk to your doctor if it continues.

Vomiting in babies with RSV is usually a direct result of post-nasal drip and coughing fits. It's a standard symptom but requires monitoring. Don't waste time on forums, just get a professional opinion from your pediatrician.

My friend's baby had RSV and threw up quite a bit because of all the coughing and congestion. Since babies are so delicate, I'd suggest calling your pediatrician instead of waiting to see if it stops on its own.

Oh, I know how terrifying it is when a baby starts vomiting, your heart just sinks. It is normal to feel super anxious about it. Just take a deep breath and contact your doctor, they will tell you exactly how to manage it.

My little nephew was throwing up all his milk when he had RSV. The doctor said the thick mucus was upsetting his tiny tummy. We had to feed him very small amounts of fluids frequently instead of full feeds.

I was constantly googling when my baby had a cold and started spitting up. RSV can definitely cause vomiting due to coughing, but I kept worrying about dehydration. Please call your pediatrician just to put your mind at ease.
