Does rogaine cause dandruff?

I've been using Rogaine for my hair loss for a few months now, and I've noticed my scalp has become very dry and flaky, like dandruff. I'm not sure if it's related to the Rogaine itself. Does Rogaine commonly cause dandruff or scalp irritation?

Yes, it can cause dryness and white flakes, which look like dandruff. Try applying a little coconut oil or aloe vera gel to your scalp a few hours before washing your hair. But if your scalp becomes very red or painful, please see a doctor.

Yeah bro, it does. The liquid version has propylene glycol which dries out the scalp and leaves flaky white stuff. Switching to the foam version really helped me, it's way less drying.

Actually, it can cause severe itching and flaking. In my case, I ignored the flaking and got a bad scalp infection, so I had to stop using it. If the dryness gets worse, don't ignore it and consult a dermatologist immediately.

Yes, many people face scalp dryness and flaking with it. Using a mild anti-dandruff shampoo twice a week usually solves this problem easily.

It definitely causes flaking, but it's often just dried residue of the medicine rather than actual dandruff. Switch to the foam version of Rogaine and use a good ketoconazole shampoo twice a week to keep it clean.

Haan beta, isse thodi khushki ho jati hai sir pe aur papdi jamne lagti hai. Hamare yahan log sarsone ka tel lagate hain, par aap doctor se puch kar koi achha sabun ya shampoo lijiye iske liye.

Oh, absolutely! It makes your head look like a snow globe sometimes. But don't panic, it's just the alcohol in it drying out. Just use a hydrating shampoo and you won't have to carry an umbrella for the 'snow'!

I had terrible flaking last month after starting the liquid minoxidil. I talked to my dermatologist and switched to the foam version, and the dandruff-like flakes disappeared within a week. The foam is much gentler on the skin.
