Does rhinovirus cause fever?

My son has a bad cold with a runny nose and cough, and now he has a slight fever too. My friend told me it's probably just a rhinovirus. Can a rhinovirus infection also cause a fever in children, or should I be looking for something else?

My family doctor explained that while rhinovirus is the primary cause of the common cold, it can sometimes trigger a low-grade fever as the body's immune response. However, if the fever goes very high or lasts more than three days, you should definitely consult a doctor to rule out secondary bacterial infections.

I totally get it, dealing with a cold and fever at the same time is so exhausting. Yes, rhinovirus can cause a mild fever, especially in kids. Please take rest and sip some warm water.

Honestly, with my toddler catching every virus from preschool, we have a running fever in the house every month. Rhinovirus definitely causes mild fever and a mountain of used tissues. I am just surviving on coffee right now.

I once ignored a mild cold and fever thinking it was just a simple virus, but it turned into severe bronchitis because I didn't rest. Don't push through the fatigue. If you have a fever, take a day off and get a proper checkup.

Rhinovirus sounds like some dinosaur name but it's just the basic cold virus! Yes, it can give you a mild fever, making you feel like a warm potato. Just wrap yourself in a blanket and watch your favorite movie.
