Does rheumatoid arthritis qualify for long term disability?

Because of my advanced rheumatoid arthritis, I've had to stop working completely. I'm trying to understand my options for financial support. Does RA qualify for long-term disability assistance, especially given how debilitating it has become?

It can be very tough to manage daily tasks with this pain. Yes, severe cases do qualify under major disability guidelines. Please take care and take one day at a time, buddy.

Just like with my chronic thyroid issues, getting official paperwork for long term disability requires proper documentation. You must keep getting regular blood tests and consult your specialist. Their detailed clinical reports are the most important thing for any claim.

For the stiffness, light hot water fermentation with rock salt helps a lot at home. But for legal disability status, you must consult a government hospital medical board. Don't rely on self-management if the joint pain is making you completely unable to work.

Actually, my rheumatologist explained that RA is classified under musculoskeletal disorders. If your joint damage is severe enough to limit fine motor skills or walking, you can get a disability certificate. You will need to show X-rays and RF factor reports from the last few months.

I have seen many colleagues manage their careers and claims over the last thirty years. If your body is demanding rest, apply for the certificate through proper government channels. Don't feel bad about it, health always comes first in the evening of life.

Listen, don't stress too much about the paperwork right now. Yes, it qualifies if it's severe, but focus on resting your hands today. We will figure out the office formalities slowly, just take rest first.

Is the process for getting the disability benefits very stressful in India? I am also struggling with severe flare-ups and find it so hard to sit at my desk. Did anyone else face rejection the first time they applied?

At this age, my knees anyway feel qualified for retirement, let alone disability! But seriously, if the RA is bad, our government schemes do recognize it. Get the papers signed by a government doc, otherwise HR will just keep sending emails.
