Does rheumatoid arthritis affect sexual function?

I've been living with rheumatoid arthritis for some years now, and lately, I've noticed changes in my sexual function. It's a bit embarrassing to talk about, but I'm wondering if RA can actually affect one's sexual health and intimacy.

Yes, it can. The chronic fatigue, joint pain, and physical limitations of RA definitely affect intimacy. Also, some medications can impact libido, so it is a very common issue that you should discuss openly with your doctor.

Haan, bilkul affect hota hai, pain aur thakaan ki wajah se mood hi nahi banta na. It is a very real problem but people in India feel shy talking about it. Honestly, discussing it with your partner and taking things slow helps a lot.

Physical illnesses can sometimes create barriers in our relationships, but love and connection go beyond just the physical aspect. Keep a positive mind, communicate openly with your partner, and let your body heal at its own pace.

I was actually reading an article about this recently. It mentioned that both pain and the mental stress of managing RA can lower sex drive. It makes total sense because who can focus on intimacy when their joints are throbbing?

While pain and fatigue are major factors, sometimes hormone levels or specific medicines are the root cause. For safety, you must get a proper checkup and discuss these symptoms frankly with your specialist to see if a medication change is needed.
