Does repatha affect the liver?

I've been taking Repatha injections for my high cholesterol, and I regularly get blood tests. My last liver function test showed slightly elevated numbers, and I'm concerned. Could Repatha be affecting my liver?

Any cholesterol-lowering medication can occasionally impact liver function, though Repatha has a very low risk compared to statins. For your own safety, please ask your cardiologist to order a Liver Function Test (LFT) before and during the treatment. It is always better to monitor than to guess.

Oh god, I always worry about side effects whenever starting a new medicine like this. I read so many articles online about liver enzymes going up, which made me so nervous. But my doctor said it is generally very safe and we just need to do routine blood tests to be absolutely sure.

While you take your prescribed medicines for heart health, you can also support your liver gently. Drinking warm water, eating simple home-cooked meals, and doing light yoga like Bhujangasana can keep your body in balance. Always let your doctor guide the medical part, of course.

Having PCOS makes me super careful about how medications affect my liver, since we are already prone to fatty liver. I can't say for sure how it will affect you, but I always request my doctor to check my liver panels whenever I start anything new. Definitely discuss your metabolic health with them.

I totally get it, it is so scary to think that a medicine meant to help your heart might affect your liver instead. It is a very valid concern to have. Just discuss this openly with your physician so they can reassure you and keep a watch on your blood work.

Actually, Repatha is pretty advanced and doesn't stress the liver like daily high-dose statins do, yaar. But still, getting an LFT done every few months is standard protocol. Just ask your doc once to be totally chilled out about it.

I have been using this injection for over a year now because my cholesterol was extremely high. Personally, my liver reports have been absolutely perfect in every six-month checkup. I can only speak for myself, so please check with your doctor for your case.
