Does red meat cause diabetes?

My doctor recently told me my blood sugar is a bit high, almost pre-diabetic range. My family has a history of diabetes, so I'm trying to be careful about my diet. Someone suggested red meat could be a factor, so I'm wondering if it's true.

I was actually reading about this yesterday because my family has a history of high sugar. I got a bit scared seeing some articles saying red meat increases risk. Does anyone know if eating it just once a week is okay, or should we stop completely?

From what I have researched, it is not like eating a piece of mutton today will give you diabetes tomorrow. But yeah, processed meats and heavy daily consumption seem to have a strong link with insulin resistance. It is mostly about balance and how we cook it, right?

Yes, high intake is definitely linked to a higher risk of type 2 diabetes. Better to consult a clinical dietitian.

In our times, we ate everything but did heavy physical work, so these issues were rare. If you eat heavy meats, make sure you walk daily and use spices like ginger and garlic to help digestion. But if your sugar is already high, please follow your doctor's diet plan strictly.

Honestly this stuff keeps me awake at night because there is so much conflicting advice online. I stopped eating red meat entirely out of fear, but my doctor told me panic is worse than the food itself. Just get your HbA1c checked regularly so you have peace of mind.
