Does red 40 cause cancer in humans?

My friends and I were discussing food additives in college, and someone brought up Red 40, with very strong opinions on both sides. There was a lot of confusion. Does Red 40 really cause cancer in humans, or is it mostly a concern from animal studies?

It is always safer to use natural colorings like beetroot or turmeric at home instead of artificial ones. While Red 40 is approved for use, if you ever feel unwell or get skin rashes after eating processed foods, please consult a doctor immediately.

I read about Red 40 being linked to health issues and got so scared because my kids eat jellies containing it. Has anyone else felt anxious about this or noticed any reactions in their children after they eat these colored candies?

Ho na, even I was reading about this on some blog. It is very confusing. But I think in daily life we eat so many processed things, so we shouldn't panic over one ingredient. Moderation is key.

Honestly, I can't give up my red velvet pastries and spicy chips! There is no real proof it causes cancer in humans in normal amounts, so I am going to keep enjoying my treats. Life is too short to worry about food dyes!
