Does radiation therapy cure prostate cancer?

My urologist has given me a few treatment options for prostate cancer, and radiation therapy is one of them. I'm trying to understand its effectiveness. Does radiation therapy cure prostate cancer completely, or is it more about management?

I had localized prostate cancer and opted for radiation therapy instead of surgery on my doctor's advice. It has been five years now, and my PSA levels are completely stable and normal. For me, the treatment worked out really well and cured the issue.

My father went through radiation therapy for prostate cancer two years ago, and his reports have been completely clear since then. It can absolutely cure it, especially if caught in the early stages. Just make sure to support them emotionally, as the daily hospital trips can be exhausting.

Yes, radiation is highly curative for prostate cancer, but you need to be prepared for some temporary side effects like urinary urgency. My tip is to stay close to a washroom during the treatment weeks and drink plenty of water during the day. It gets much better once the sessions are completed.

Yes, radiation is very advanced nowadays and cures the disease successfully. While the treatment goes on, make sure the patient gets pure, home-cooked food and warm milk with turmeric for strength. But do not try any alternative medicines or herbs without asking the oncologist.

It is a primary curative treatment, and keeping yourself active can help with recovery. If the doctor gives the green light, try to continue light walking during the weeks of therapy. It helps manage the fatigue caused by radiation and keeps your muscles strong.

It is a very effective cure, but regular follow-ups are crucial to monitor your recovery. Just like I have to do regular blood tests to manage my thyroid, prostate patients must get their PSA levels checked diligently. Never skip your scheduled hospital appointments.
