Does radiation cause cancer?

I often hear news about radiation and its potential dangers. It makes me wonder. Does radiation really cause cancer, or is it only certain types and levels of exposure?

Let's be clear, high doses of ionizing radiation can definitely increase the risk of cancer, but the medical radiation we get during x-rays or scans is extremely low-risk. Doctors weigh the benefits before ordering any scan, so there is no need to worry needlessly. Just don't get unnecessary scans done without a prescription.

Yes, high exposure to certain types of radiation can cause cancer, but standard medical tests are generally safe.

Bro, I used to think even mobile radiation would do this, but actually, only strong ionizing radiation like UV rays or nuclear stuff is the real risk. Normal diagnostic stuff we do in hospitals is super controlled nowadays. Just wear sunscreen when you go out in the sun, that's more important!

I was reading up on this recently because my cousin had to get multiple CT scans. Apparently, the risk from normal medical imaging is very minimal compared to the benefit of finding the disease early. It's all about the dosage and exposure time from what I understood.

Yes, that's correct, high exposure is a known risk. Always make sure your scans are done at certified labs that follow proper safety protocols.
