Does psoriasis spread by scratching?

My psoriasis patches often get very itchy, and sometimes I just can't help but scratch them. I've heard that scratching can make new patches appear or spread the existing ones. Is it true that psoriasis spreads by scratching?

Haan babu, khujlane se bilkul badhta hai. Jaha khujlaoge waha naya chakta nikal aata hai. Isliye haath thoda baandh ke hi rakho aur nariyal tel lagao.

Yes, it's called the Koebner phenomenon. Scratching damages the skin barrier and triggers new plaques to form there. Better to channel that frustration into a good workout and use ice packs instead of scratching.

Beta, khujli kitni bhi ho, nakhun mat lagana. Nakhun lagane se twacha chhil jati hai aur wahan naya rog banta hai. Aloe vera ka thanda guda lagao, aaram milega.

Bro, 100% yes. If I scratch my elbow patch, within a week a new spot appears right next to it. Just tap or pat the skin, never scratch with nails.

I used to scratch in my sleep and wake up with new patches, it made me so anxious! Now I wear soft cotton gloves to bed. Try it, it really stops you from damaging your skin.
