Does psoriasis hurt?

My psoriasis patches, especially the bigger ones, have started to cause actual pain sometimes, not just the usual itching and discomfort. I always thought it was mainly about the skin texture. Does psoriasis itself actually hurt?

Oh absolutely, especially when you stretch in the morning and a patch decides to crack open. It feels like a paper cut but across a larger area. Keeps you awake and reminds you you're not 20 anymore!

I totally get it, the burning sensation can be so painful and frustrating. People think it's just dry skin, but the deep sting is hard to explain. Sending you lots of strength, please keep applying your soothing creams.

Yes, it can hurt when the plaques thicken and split. My tip is to never let the skin go completely dry. Apply a thick, fragrance-free moisturizer right after you pat dry from a bath.
