Does psoriasis go away?

My doctor just confirmed that I have psoriasis, and I'm really trying to understand the condition. I'm hoping it's something that can eventually go away. Does psoriasis ever completely disappear, or is it a lifelong condition?

Psoriasis doesn't fully go away permanently, but it can be managed. I use coconut oil with camphor for mild itching, but if the skin starts cracking and bleeding, please see a dermatologist immediately.

Look, there is no permanent cure, but it can go into complete remission. My skin has been 100% clear for two years now just by taking my doctor's prescribed ointments and avoiding alcohol.

Hey, don't stress too much about 'forever'! It might not have a permanent cure, but it definitely goes away for long periods where you won't even notice it. Just take it one day at a time, buddy.

It's an autoimmune condition, so it stays in the system but the active symptoms can be suppressed. Sticking to your prescribed topical steroid or non-steroid creams as advised by your doctor is key to keeping it away.

Please don't ignore it hoping it will go away on its own. I made that mistake and it spread from a tiny patch to my entire back. Go get a proper clinical checkup before it gets hard to manage.

My doctor clearly told me that psoriasis is chronic and can't be 'cured' permanently, but modern treatments like biologics or phototherapy can clear the skin almost completely. It is about control, not a quick fix.

Honestly, it comes and goes. During exams when I'm super stressed, it pops up, and during holidays it just vanishes. So chill, it doesn't stay bad forever.

It won't disappear forever, but keeping your body fat in check and lifting weights helps reduce systemic inflammation. Exercise and a clean diet are great tools to keep those patches at bay.

Well, it doesn't leave permanently, just like my wife's relatives. But jokes apart, with some discipline and proper doctor visits, it goes into hiding for a long time.

Like my thyroid, psoriasis is something you learn to manage. It doesn't disappear, but with regular doctor visits, thyroid/blood panels, and proper medication adjustments, you can lead a completely normal life.
