Does progesterone help you sleep?

Since peri-menopause started, I've been having a lot of trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. My gynaecologist suggested progesterone, saying it might also improve my sleep quality. Has anyone here found progesterone helpful for their sleep issues?

I have been having terrible insomnia lately and my doctor mentioned checking my hormone levels. Does progesterone really make you feel sleepy right after taking it? I am a bit scared of taking hormone pills and would love to know how it feels.

I totally get it, tossing and turning all night is the worst feeling ever. Progesterone actually has a very calming effect on the brain, almost like a natural sedative. Many women find that taking it at night helps them fall into a much deeper sleep.

My mom was struggling to sleep for months during her menopause phase. Her doctor put her on a nighttime progesterone dose, and honestly, she sleeps like a baby now. It really worked for her sleep issues.

Actually yaar, progesterone metabolizes into something that acts on your brain's GABA receptors, which is why it makes you so drowsy. That is why doctors usually suggest taking it right before bed. It definitely helped me fix my broken sleep schedule.

Yes, it absolutely does! It is known for its relaxing, calming vibes which help you wind down. Don't stress too much about taking it, just make sure you take it at bedtime so you can enjoy a peaceful, deep sleep without feeling groggy during the day.

I would take anything if it guaranteed me 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep at this point! From what I hear, progesterone is great for sleep because of its relaxing properties. Wish my daily coffee had a magical reverse switch like that!
