Does pregnancy cause dry skin?

My skin has become incredibly dry and itchy all over my body ever since I got pregnant. I'm moisturizing constantly, but it doesn't seem to help much. Is dry skin a common symptom during pregnancy?

Yes, your body uses up a lot of fluids for the baby, leaving your skin very dry and itchy. I found that applying organic coconut oil right after a bath on damp skin worked wonders for me. But if you get intense, unbearable itching, especially on your palms and soles, please see your doctor immediately as it can be a sign of a liver issue.

Haan, skin toh ekdum dry aur stretchy ho jaati hai, especially in the winter months! I used to apply thick body butter twice a day, na, to keep the itching away. Just keep your body moisturized and drink lots of water, simple as that.

Yes, it is quite common to get dry and flaky skin during this time because of hormone changes. Please don't worry, just use a very mild soap and a good moisturizer, it will get better.

I got such dry, scaly patches on my arms and belly that I immediately started googling and got so scared of skin infections! My doctor told me it's just basic hormonal dehydration. If you are stressing like me, just ask your doctor for a safe lotion to put your mind at ease.

My bhabhi had really oily skin before, but during her pregnancy, her face got super dry and started peeling. She literally had to change her entire skincare routine to heavy moisturizers. It definitely happens!

At this age, my skin is already losing its moisture, and pregnancy hormones just finish off whatever was left! I felt like a dry leaf for nine months. Just buy a huge tub of cold cream, keep slathering it on, and accept that the baby is taking all your glow!
