Does pravastatin cause joint pain?

I've been taking Pravastatin for my cholesterol for about six months now. In the last couple of months, I've developed significant joint pain, especially in my knees and hands. Could this medicine be causing my joint pain?

I just started this medicine and my knees have been hurting slightly. Does the joint pain go away on its own after some days or should I tell my doctor?

Please get it checked immediately. I ignored joint and muscle pain while taking statins, thinking it was just old age, and it got much worse. Your doctor can easily change your brand or dose.

Yes, joint and muscle pain can be a side effect of pravastatin. You should consult your doctor about it.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! It's actually a pretty common issue with statins. Just give your doctor a quick call and they will fix it for you in no time.

Statins can sometimes cause muscle or joint issues, which needs careful monitoring. Do not stop the medication on your own, but definitely consult your cardiologist for a safe evaluation.
