Does potassium cause kidney stones?

Someone at the office was discussing diet and kidney health, and he mentioned that too much potassium can cause kidney stones. My uncle actually suffered from them, so I'm a bit worried. Is there any truth to this claim?

Actually no, potassium doesn't cause them. It usually helps prevent stones. Don't worry too much about it, just drink enough water daily.

My grandmother always said eating bananas is good for clearing the system, and potassium actually helps lower the risk. But still, it is always better to consult your doctor to understand your specific body needs.

Relax, potassium actually prevents stone formation rather than causing it. Just make sure you are not taking random supplements without a prescription. Keep your water intake high and you will be absolutely fine.

Drinking fresh coconut water and lemon juice is great for kidney health and has natural potassium. But please go to a clinic if you are having severe back or stomach pain, don't ignore that.

In our old days, we used to drink barley water and eat cucumbers to keep the kidneys clean. Potassium from natural foods is very good for health. Just avoid synthetic tablets unless a doctor tells you to.
