Does piles cause blood in stool?

I've been having some discomfort and itching for a while, and sometimes I see bright red blood when I go to the toilet. My father had piles, so I'm worried it might be that. Is it true that piles are the main reason for blood in stool?

Yes, piles is one of the most common reasons for seeing bright red blood in your stool. Since the blood vessels near the anus get swollen, they can easily bleed when you pass hard stool. But please don't just assume it is piles; always get it confirmed by a general surgeon once.

Oh absolutely, I learned this the hard way after binging on spicy biryani and chilly chicken for a week straight. The heat and lack of fiber made my stomach so upset, and there was bright blood next morning. I had to immediately switch to dahi chawal and lots of water to cool things down.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to see blood in the commode, I literally panicked and couldn't sleep for two days when it happened to me. But yes, piles is a major cause and it is very manageable. Just talk to a specialist to ease your mind and get the right treatment.

Please don't search online and start eating random leaves or taking ayurvedic powders blindly. While piles does cause bleeding, blood in stool can also mean other internal issues that only a proper doctor can diagnose. Skip the home remedies for now and book a proper clinical checkup.

It definitely can, especially if you are straining too much. Along with whatever ointment the doctor gives, try to avoid sitting for long hours at your desk. I found that a simple 30-minute brisk walk daily really helps keep the digestion smooth and reduces pressure down there.

Yes, it does. My chronic constipation due to thyroid issues actually triggered my piles, leading to occasional bleeding. You should definitely consult a doctor and also get your routine blood tests done to see if some other underlying issue is causing the constipation.

Haan, bleeding is quite common in piles due to excess body heat and straining. Along with your prescribed medication, doing gentle pranayama like Sheetali can help cool the system. Focus on deep breathing and keeping your mind calm while you heal.
