Does physical therapy help arthritis in knees?

My knees have been aching terribly due to arthritis, especially after walking. My doctor recommended physical therapy, but I'm skeptical if it will truly help. Does physical therapy help arthritis in knees, or is it just temporary relief?

Yes, physical therapy helps immensely by strengthening the muscles around the joint. Along with managing my blood pressure through salt restriction, my regular knee exercises have kept me active without heavy pain. Do get your joints evaluated by a specialist.

I have guided many elders in my family through this. Knee physical therapy increases your joint flexibility and builds thigh muscle strength to share the load. Consistency is the secret to getting relief from arthritis pain.

My mother was in so much pain she couldn't climb stairs, and we panicked thinking she needed immediate surgery. But after just three weeks of regular physiotherapy, her pain reduced by 80% and she's walking normally now. Don't worry, it really works!

Yes, it helps a lot, but please don't start doing random knee exercises from YouTube. Have a professional therapist assess your specific knee condition first, so they can guide you safely without causing any extra strain.

Physiotherapy is very cost-effective compared to knee replacement surgeries or lifelong heavy medications. You can just visit a therapist for 3 to 4 sessions, learn the correct exercises, and then practice them at home for free.

My uncle insisted on using native oil massages, but my orthopedic doctor strongly recommended targeted physiotherapy instead. Trusting the doctor was the right choice as the scientific stretching exercises gave him long-term mobility back.
